  • Latest Australia Maps - Columbus SatNav System

    Folks,

Just purchased a Skoda Superb with the Columbus System.

What is the most cost effective way of updating maps (set aside the $500 a pop at the local VW/Skoda dealer)

    Thoughts/tips welcome

to be honest, legally, you're locked in to their prices.

One way is to be a revision behind, and hope somebody is selling it..

If you want to dig a bit deeper, you have to go underground. Search in google for 'skoda columbus updates' and there should be a link to a underground (gps) site ;-)

The next thread also has this

I just purchased the full 2013 maps for $66 on DVD.

Place the DVD into your Columbus system and load it on to the HDD, takes 20 minutes.

Also for an extra $50 you can get AUS and NZ speed cameras

I purchased from here, I phoned him and he was incredibly helpful

I agree. I did the same and found the "owner" very helpful.

When you put the disc in it installs the nav update to your hard drive.
It is the same disc as the RNS510 from VW too if you can find one of they any cheaper.

If you're coming through Tamworth the disc in my bottom drawer may visit your Columbus unit for 5mins
